What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Freedom Ministries based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We Believe there is one true eternal God, revealed in three persons; Father, Son, Holy Spirit.  John 1:1-5; Colossians1:15-19; 1 Cor 12:4-6

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God; born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died a sacrificial death to save us from our sins, resurrected from the dead and ascended to Heaven.  Mt. 1:21, 23; John 1:1-2, 14, 3:16; Acts 1:2-3, 9, 2:22-24

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third, equal part of the Trinity.  We believe sanctifying power comes through the indwelling of the Spirit, enabling believers to live a holy life.  Sanctification is the process of being separated from sin and dedicated to God, which begins at salvation and continues throughout the lifetime of the believer so that the church might be built up and fully function as the body of Christ.  Galatian 5: 22-23; John 14: 16-17; John 16:7-9, 13-15; Eph 1:13-14; Eph 5: 18-19, 1 Cor12: 4-11

Mankind & Sin

We believe mankind, both male and female were created in God's image and for His glory.  Adam and Eve were created without sin.  This was disrupted by their disobedience in an attempt to be God.  This caused sin to enter the world and fracture what was our perfect relationship with God and caused them to fall out of fellowship with God.  Gen 1;27; 2:18, 20b-23, Gen 3

Salvation

We believe Jesus came to reconcile us with God and salvation is God's free gift to any person who puts their faith in Jesus Christ, accepting Him as Lord and Savior.  Because of the atoning blood of Jesus, shed on the cross, the gift of salvation includes immediate restoration of a person's relationship with God.  Salvation comes by grace through faith alone.  John 3:16, Acts 16: 30-31; Romans 3:21-16, 10:9-10, Eph 2:8-9.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's Word to us.  The Bible is the source and authority of Truth about the origin and purpose of the human race and reveals the nature of our Divine Creator.  2 Tim 3:16-17

The Church

We believe that the local church is the living, breathing body of Christ on this earth, whose purpose is to continue with the mission that Jesus had when He was here.  The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Eph 4:4; Heb 10:25; Acts 2:41-47; John 14:12; 1 Cor 12:27; Matt 28:18-20; Matt 16-18

Resurrection

We believe Jesus Christ will return to this earth to judge both the living and the dead, and to bring forth the fullness of God's Kingdom here on earth, restoring all things back as they ought to be.  Mk 13:32-37, 1 Thess 5:1-3, Rev 21-22:5

Core Values

Christ Centered

We are unapologetically centered on and around the message of Jesus Christ and His Gospel.

Spirit-led

We are completely open to the movement of the Holy Spirit, the third in the Trinity.  We yield ourselves, our agendas, and our plans to our Advocate, our Comforter, and our Counselor.

Authentic community

Come as you are.  We are a safe space to be broken and not perfect.  We can do this together in the presence of others who are broken and not perfect, but working it out too.

Restoration

We want to see people live an abundant life and we believe that is the Father's desire too.
